Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Nuci Bici respects your privacy and aims to collect only the personal information needed to operate the website, provide its services and communicate with people who choose to contact the project.
This Policy covers the public Nuci Bici website and its contact facilities, as well as services for registered members, including the Nuci Bici Forum and Nuci Bici Members’ Offers. It also covers submissions made through Nuci Bici forms. Some future services described in Section 18 are not active yet; the relevant section will be updated before those services begin processing personal data.
1. Who is responsible for your personal information?
Nuci Bici is currently an independent cultural project operated by an individual. It has not yet been constituted as a separate association or other legal entity.
For the personal-data processing described in this Policy, the data controller is Eric Jorrin Peereboom, the individual currently responsible for operating Nuci Bici.
You can contact the controller at info@nucibici.org or through the Contact page: https://nucibici.org/contact/.
If the project’s legal or organisational structure changes in a way that changes the identity of the controller or the applicable contact arrangements, this section will be updated.
2. What this Policy covers
The information processed depends on how you use the website. Public informational pages can be visited without creating an account. The Forum and Members’ Offers are intended for registered members and their content is available only to members who are logged in.
Nuci Bici does not require members to provide a verified legal name or prove their identity or age. A username and any first or last name entered into a member profile may be an alias or pseudonym. An email address is required for registration. Nuci Bici does not routinely verify whether a member’s name or stated age is genuine.
Even when a person uses an alias, their account email address, technical connection data, and content they choose to post may still constitute personal data. Do not include other people’s personal information in a post, listing or uploaded file unless it is relevant and you have an appropriate reason to do so.
3. Public website visits and technical information
When your browser connects to the website, technical information is processed to deliver the pages and maintain the security and reliability of the service. Depending on the connection and hosting systems, this can include an IP address, date and time of a request, browser and operating-system information, requested pages, and related server-log information.
This information is used for technical operation, troubleshooting, preventing abuse, investigating security incidents and maintaining the website. Nuci Bici does not use it to create advertising profiles or to track people across unrelated websites. The hosting provider may maintain server and security logs under its own systems and legal obligations; see Sections 12 and 13.
Nuci Bici has not yet enabled its planned country-level visitor reporting. If introduced, it is intended to provide aggregate information about the countries from which interest in the project originates, rather than to identify individual visitors. The implementation, legal basis and retention arrangements will be confirmed and this section updated before that processing starts.
4. Contact enquiries and correspondence
If you contact Nuci Bici by email or through a contact form, the information you provide may include your name or chosen name, email address, message, any other details you enter and any files you attach. We use this information to read and respond to your enquiry, manage the matter raised and keep relevant correspondence where reasonably necessary.
Enquiries may concern the collection, historical information, volunteering, sponsorship, municipal proposals, partnerships, events, archive material or other project matters. Some enquiries may remain relevant for an extended period. For example, a potential volunteer opportunity may arise months after an initial message, or a sponsorship proposal may need to be considered over the course of a longer project. Retention is therefore assessed by purpose and continuing relevance rather than by one universal deletion period; see Section 11.
Contact information is not used for unrelated advertising or sold to third parties.
5. Member accounts and login
When you register, Nuci Bici processes the email address you provide and the account information needed to create and administer your membership, such as your username or display name, profile details and authentication-related data. WordPress also processes technical information needed to manage login sessions and account security.
An email address is required to create an account; without it, Nuci Bici cannot create the account or provide member-only services through it. The name and other profile details do not establish that Nuci Bici has verified the member’s real-world identity. Please keep your login credentials secure and contact us if you believe that your account has been accessed without permission.
6. The Nuci Bici Forum
The Forum allows registered members to create discussions and posts and to participate in the Nuci Bici community. We process and store the content a member submits, the account or display name associated with it, and the technical information needed to provide and moderate the service. Forum content is available to logged-in members; it is not intended to be publicly browsable by people who are not members.
Each Forum post has a Report function. Submitting a report flags the relevant post for moderator review. The reporter receives an internal message acknowledging that the report has been received and will be reviewed at the earliest opportunity. This acknowledgement does not guarantee that a post will be removed or that a particular outcome will follow. Reports and moderation actions may result in content being reviewed, edited, hidden or removed, a warning being issued, or an account being restricted, suspended or banned.
If a member closes an account or is banned, their account or profile details may be disabled or deleted where appropriate. Forum posts are not automatically deleted or anonymised when an account closes or is banned. Posts may remain visible under the display name used when they were submitted in order to preserve the continuity and historical value of discussions, including contributions made by designers, engineers, collectors and other knowledgeable participants. Posts may be removed or altered where there is a reason to do so, such as spam, abuse, a rights-related concern or a valid data-protection request. Requests relating to particular posts are assessed individually under applicable law.
7. Nuci Bici Members’ Offers
Members’ Offers is a specialist listing and discovery service for bicycles, frames, wheels, components, cycling equipment, publications, memorabilia and other material relevant to NuciBici’s heritage interests. Submissions are subject to moderation before they are shown to members. Offers and their associated descriptions, photographs and details are available only to registered members who are logged in; the service is not intended to be publicly browsable.
Depending on the listing and the fields completed, information processed may include an item title, category, description, photographs, asking price, currency and the country in which the item is located. Country-level location is requested to help potential buyers consider shipping and possible import duties; the form is not intended to collect a seller’s precise home address for this purpose. Offers are associated internally with the member account that submitted them. Information is not intended to be published in a listing unless it forms part of the listing content or is otherwise needed to operate the service.
Nuci Bici uses listing information to review, publish, administer and moderate offers, respond to questions, address suspected fraud or abuse, and protect the integrity of the service. Publication does not mean that Nuci Bici has verified a seller’s identity, ownership, provenance, condition, authenticity or valuation of an item.
8. Forms, submissions and uploaded files
Nuci Bici uses its own Nuci Bici Forms plugin to collect information through forms on the website. Depending on the form, submissions may relate to contact enquiries, museum enquiries, volunteering, events, items or bicycles, classified offers, archive materials or other project activities. Forms may collect contact details, descriptions, selected categories, country-level location information and uploaded files such as images, documents, spreadsheets, audio or video material.
Form submissions are saved as records in the website’s WordPress database. Uploaded files are stored on the hosting environment in a dedicated directory separate from the WordPress Media Library. Files are not automatically published as website content merely because they are submitted. The relevant Nuci Bici recipient may receive a notification by email using the website’s configured mail service. Some forms may also send the submitter a confirmation email; this depends on the settings for that form. Some member-only forms link the submission to the member account and prefill the name and email address held in that account.
A form submission is used for its stated purpose. For example, volunteer details may be kept while a possible role is being considered; a sponsorship or partnership proposal may remain relevant throughout a funding or development process; and material submitted for the Heritage Archive may be retained for historical review or, where accepted, long-term preservation. Not every submission is intended for publication. Where a form is intended to provide material for possible publication, this will be addressed through the relevant form, service terms or follow-up process. Forms identify fields that are required; if required information is not provided, the form may not be submitted or Nuci Bici may be unable to respond or consider the submission.
Please do not submit passwords, payment-card details or other highly sensitive information through general forms. If you submit images or documents containing information about identifiable people, include only what is relevant to the submission and what you are entitled to provide.
9. Why we process information and the legal bases
The legal basis depends on the purpose. Under the GDPR, the main bases relevant to the current website are:
- Providing a requested account, Forum access, Members’ Offers functionality or another requested service, where processing is necessary to provide that service or take steps requested before entering an arrangement (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Responding to enquiries and considering volunteer, sponsorship, municipal, partnership or other project approaches. Depending on the circumstances, this may be necessary to take steps requested by the person before a possible arrangement, or may rely on NuciBici’s legitimate interests in operating and developing the project and managing relevant communications (Articles 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f)).
- Operating, securing and moderating the website and member services; preventing spam, abuse and repeated unwanted submissions; maintaining the integrity of listings and discussions; and handling reports. These activities generally rely on legitimate interests in running a safe and useful service (Article 6(1)(f)), subject to the rights and interests of affected people.
- Complying with legal obligations, or establishing, exercising or defending legal claims where necessary (Article 6(1)(c) and/or Article 6(1)(f), depending on the circumstances).
Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal or processing based on another lawful ground. NuciBici does not rely on consent automatically where another legal basis is more appropriate. At present, NuciBici does not use solely automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects about a person. Reports and moderation flags are reviewed by a moderator; the flag itself does not make a decision about the reported content or account.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
Nuci Bici aims to use as few cookies as practicable. The website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural advertising as part of its current intended configuration.
The site uses a cookie named “nucibici_lang” to remember the language selected or established for the visitor. It is set for up to one year so that the site can keep the selected language consistent between visits. This cookie stores a language code, not a visitor profile.
When a member logs in, WordPress uses authentication and session-related cookies needed to maintain the login and protect access to account-only services. Other strictly necessary technical cookies or similar mechanisms may be used when required for a feature requested by the visitor, account security or form operation.
In the current Asgaros Forum configuration, the read/unread and who-is-online features are disabled. Nuci Bici does not intend to use those features or their associated cookies. The actual cookies used will be checked as the Forum configuration is finalised. If additional cookies or similar technologies are introduced for analytics, tracking or other non-essential purposes, this Policy and any required information or consent mechanism will be updated before they are used.
11. How long we retain information
Nuci Bici does not apply a single automatic deletion period to every submission. Information is kept for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the nature of the information, the continuing relevance of the matter, security and moderation needs, legal obligations and the rights of the people concerned. This does not mean that information is kept indefinitely without review.
The main retention approach is as follows:
- Contact enquiries and correspondence: while needed to respond and deal with directly related matters. Relevant volunteer, sponsor, municipal or partnership correspondence may be kept for the period in which the opportunity or project remains active, then reviewed for deletion or longer-term retention where a clear reason remains.
- Member accounts: while the account is active and the information is needed to provide the services. If an account is closed or banned, account/profile details may be disabled or deleted where appropriate. Limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary to address a specific security, moderation or legal matter.
- Forum posts: these are not automatically deleted or anonymised when an account is closed or banned. They may remain available under the display name used at the time, subject to requests and applicable rights, and may be removed or altered for reasons such as spam, abuse, legal concerns or a valid request.
- Members’ Offers: listing details remain available while the offer is published. After an offer is withdrawn, rejected or removed, appropriate internal records may be retained where reasonably necessary for administration, security, moderation, historical documentation or legal purposes.
- Forms and uploaded files: retained while the submission is under review or remains relevant to the purpose for which it was sent. This period may vary significantly: for example, an archive submission or ongoing sponsorship proposal may remain relevant for longer than a routine enquiry. Accepted heritage material may be retained long-term for preservation and documentation, subject to applicable rights and any relevant permission or restriction.
- Technical and security information: retained according to the needs of website security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and the relevant provider’s log-retention practices. The Forms plugin also uses a short-lived IP-derived value for rate limiting submissions; this value is designed to expire after approximately ten minutes.
Where we no longer have a valid reason to retain personal information, we will delete it, anonymise it where appropriate, or otherwise stop using it, subject to technical limitations, backups and applicable legal obligations. Requests for deletion are assessed in the circumstances of the particular information and service.
12. Who may access or receive information?
Access to personal information is limited to the controller and any people who need it for the purposes described in this Policy. Nuci Bici currently operates as a small, individually run project. If moderators or other people are appointed to help administer the website, their access should be limited to what is needed for their role.
Personal information may be processed by technical providers that support hosting, database and file storage, email, website maintenance, security or other necessary infrastructure. A relevant email recipient may receive a form notification, and the email service used by the sender or recipient may process the message as part of delivering it. Information may also be disclosed where necessary to comply with law or a lawful request from an authority, or where otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
Nuci Bici does not sell personal information or provide it to third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
13. Hosting, email and current service providers
The website is hosted by o2switch, a hosting provider based in France. Website pages, the WordPress database, form submission records and uploaded files are held within the hosting environment. The site’s configured email service is also provided through the hosting arrangement and is used for project correspondence and form notifications.
O2switch’s published data-protection policy describes o2switch as acting as a processor for personal data handled on behalf of its hosting customers and states that customer data are located in France unless the documentation for the subscribed service provides otherwise. Its published terms and policy describe the responsibilities associated with that hosting relationship.
For further information, see o2switch’s published data-protection policy: https://www.o2switch.fr/du-rgpd.pdf and hosting terms: https://www.o2switch.fr/cgv/. The specific services, backup arrangements and retention periods applicable to a particular account are determined by the relevant hosting service and provider documentation.
14. International transfers
The current hosting provider states that customer data are located in France by default, subject to the documentation for the subscribed service. France is within the European Economic Area. Email messages may also pass through the systems of email providers used by the person sending or receiving them.
Nuci Bici has not yet selected or activated a third-party provider for automatic translation of Forum content, and the webshop has not yet been launched. If a future service involves sending personal data to another provider or transferring them outside the European Economic Area, Nuci Bici will assess the applicable requirements and update the relevant information before that processing begins, including the provider, purpose, destination and safeguards where required.
15. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the conditions set by applicable law, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal data concerning you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request erasure of personal data where the legal conditions are met;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation;
- receive certain information in a portable format where the legal conditions apply; and
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. In particular, a request concerning a Forum post or a historical contribution is assessed in context. Closing an account does not automatically delete all material submitted by that account, as explained in Sections 6 and 11, but you may contact the controller to request review of particular content or information.
16. Children and age information
The website concerns bicycle history, design, engineering and related cultural activities and is intended for a general audience. Nuci Bici does not require members to state their age or provide proof of age, and does not routinely verify a member’s identity. The project does not ask for a date of birth as part of its standard member registration.
If a particular processing activity involving a child requires parental authorisation, consent or other additional safeguards under applicable law, Nuci Bici will take steps appropriate to those requirements. Users should not submit unnecessary personal information about children or other people in Forum posts, listings or forms.
17. External websites
The website may contain links to external websites, archives, manufacturers, media organisations, social-media services or other resources. These services operate independently and have their own privacy practices. When you follow an external link, the external provider may process your information according to its own terms and privacy policy. Nuci Bici is not responsible for how an independently operated external website processes data.
18. Services that may be added later
The website and project will develop over time. The following potential features are not active as part of the current processing described in this Policy:
- Aggregate country-level audience reporting: intended to help understand the international reach of the project. If introduced, the implementation and legal basis will be confirmed, and reporting is intended to use aggregate country-level information rather than to maintain identified visitor profiles.
- Automated translation of Forum or other member content through an external localisation or translation provider: no such third-party provider has yet been selected or activated. Before introducing it, NuciBici will review what content and personal data would be sent, who would receive it and where it would be processed.
- A webshop: this has not yet been launched. Before activation, the Policy will be supplemented with the relevant information about customer accounts, orders, delivery, payments, tax and any payment or ecommerce providers actually selected.
The features in this section are plans, not current processing activities. Before a feature is activated, this Policy will be updated to explain the relevant purposes, data, legal bases, providers, transfers and retention arrangements.
19. Security
Nuci Bici takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. Measures may include access controls, software updates, backups, moderation procedures and security functions provided by the hosting environment and website software.
No internet-based service can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs and the law requires notification to a supervisory authority or affected people, the controller will take the steps required by applicable law.
20. Complaints
If you have a concern about the way your personal information is handled, you may contact the controller first so the matter can be reviewed. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
For Nuci Bici’s current activities in Portugal, the relevant authority is:
Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD)
Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º
1200-651 Lisboa

21. Changes to this Policy and contact
Nuci Bici may update this Policy when the website, its services, technical systems, providers or applicable legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on the Privacy Policy page with the date of its last update. Where a new service materially changes the processing of personal data, the relevant section will be updated before or when that processing begins, as appropriate.

Website Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Welcome to the website of Nuci Bici.
Nuci Bici is a museum project dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, design, engineering, technology and human stories surrounding an extraordinary period of bicycle development.
The project is currently being developed as an independent cultural initiative and is working towards the creation of a permanent museum and associated research and archive facilities.
These Terms & Conditions explain the basic rules for using this website and the content published on it.
By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.
1. About Nuci Bici and this website
The Nuci Bici website is currently intended primarily to provide information about the project, its history, collection, museum vision, news and related activities.
The website and the project are evolving. Some elements described on the website may therefore relate to future developments rather than facilities or services that are currently available.
In particular, the future museum, public archive, research facilities, exhibitions and other planned activities remain subject to the development of the project, the establishment of appropriate institutional partnerships and the availability of a suitable permanent location and resources.
Nothing on this website should be understood as a guarantee that a particular future facility, exhibition, programme or service will be established in a particular form or at a particular time.
The website may also make services available to registered members, including the Nuci Bici Forum and Nuci Bici Members’ Offers. These services are governed by separate service-specific Terms & Conditions, which supplement these Website Terms. Where a service-specific term deals with a matter specific to that service, it takes precedence for that matter; these Website Terms continue to apply to use of the website generally. The Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through the website and its services.
2. Using the website
You are welcome to use this website for personal, educational, research and non-commercial purposes.
You may:
- view the pages and materials made available on the website;
- share links to the website;
- refer to information about Nuci Bici in articles, research, presentations or other legitimate contexts; and
- access the website for the purpose of learning about or supporting the development of the project.
You must not:
- use the website for unlawful purposes;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its systems or any associated infrastructure;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- knowingly introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful material;
- use the website to misrepresent your relationship with Nuci Bici;
- reproduce substantial amounts of the website’s original content as though it were your own; or
- use the website or its content for purposes that infringe the rights of Nuci Bici or other rights holders.
The restriction to non-commercial purposes applies to general use of this website and its content. It does not prohibit activity expressly permitted under separate service-specific Terms & Conditions, including the submission of offers under the Nuci Bici Members’ Offers service.
We reserve the right to restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary to protect the website, its security, its content or its users.
3. Information on the website
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on the website is accurate and presented in good faith.
However, the project is continually developing and information may change.
This may include information concerning:
- the collection;
- the history and development of the project;
- future museum facilities;
- planned exhibitions or activities;
- research and archival work;
- partnerships and collaborations; and
- future plans and timelines.
We may correct, update, change or remove information from the website at any time.
Historical information may also be incomplete or subject to further research. Where appropriate, we will identify sources or indicate where information remains uncertain.
If you believe that information published on the website is inaccurate, incorrectly attributed or missing relevant information, we welcome being contacted so that we can investigate it.
4. Historical, photographic and archival material
Nuci Bici exists in large part to preserve and share historical knowledge.
The website may therefore contain photographs, documents, technical information, historical accounts, quotations, illustrations and other material relating to bicycles, designers, manufacturers, races, technologies and people.
Some of this material may originate from the Nuci Bici collection or research, while other material may have been obtained from publicly available sources, contributors, rights holders or other archives.
We will make reasonable efforts to identify and acknowledge material belonging to others where appropriate.
The appearance of material on the website does not necessarily mean that Nuci Bici claims ownership of it.
If you believe that material has been incorrectly attributed or published without appropriate permission, please contact us with details of the material and the basis of your concern. We will review the matter and, where appropriate, correct the attribution, provide additional information or remove the material.
5. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, original content created specifically for Nuci Bici and published on this website is owned by, or used with permission by, the project or the relevant rights holder.
This may include:
- original written material;
- photographs;
- graphics and illustrations;
- films and videos;
- website design and visual identity;
- logos and other project identity;
- original research; and
- other material created for Nuci Bici.
Copyright and other intellectual-property rights remain with their respective owners.
Nothing on this website transfers ownership of intellectual property to a website visitor.
You may share links to Nuci Bici pages and refer to the project in ordinary personal, educational, journalistic or research contexts.
If you wish to reproduce photographs, films, substantial amounts of text, documents, graphics or other material beyond ordinary sharing or uses permitted by law, please contact us before doing so.
6. Third-party material and websites
The website may contain links to external websites or refer to information, services, organisations or resources operated by third parties.
These may include websites belonging to institutions, manufacturers, archives, media organisations, social-media platforms or other organisations relevant to the project.
Nuci Bici does not control those external websites.
A link or reference does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of the external website, organisation or its content.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices or content of third-party websites.
You should review the relevant terms and privacy policies of external services before using them.
7. Website availability and security
We aim to keep the website available and functioning properly, but cannot guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free from technical errors.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, hosting issues or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We take reasonable measures to maintain the security of the website, but no internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Nuci Bici is not responsible for losses arising solely from temporary website unavailability or events beyond our reasonable control.
8. Contacting Nuci Bici
The website may provide contact forms or email addresses through which visitors can contact the project.
Please use these channels responsibly and provide only information that is relevant to your enquiry.
Information submitted through the website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Privacy Policy: https://nucibici.org/privacy/
9. Future museum and archive
Nuci Bici is being developed with the intention of creating a permanent museum and a substantial research and archival resource.
The future archive is expected to involve dedicated database infrastructure, digitisation, preservation, storage, backup systems and a mechanism for making appropriate material accessible to researchers and the public.
The public archive is not currently available through this website.
Information about future facilities and activities describes the project’s aims and development plans and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of their eventual form, timing or availability.
10. Disclaimer
The information on this website is provided primarily for general, educational and informational purposes.
While we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, we cannot guarantee that all information will always be complete, current or free from error.
Historical and technical information may be revised as research progresses.
Nothing on this website constitutes professional legal, financial, technical or other specialist advice. Where you require advice relating to a particular matter, you should obtain appropriate advice from a suitably qualified professional.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Nuci Bici shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or information obtained through it.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms affects any rights that you may have which cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
12. Privacy
Our approach to personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
We aim to collect only the information that is reasonably necessary for the operation of the website and communication with people who contact the project.
We do not sell personal information or use personal information for third-party advertising.
Further information about the information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and the rights available to you is provided in the Privacy Policy.
Privacy Policy: https://nucibici.org/privacy/
13. Changes to these Terms
The project and website will develop over time. We may therefore update these Terms when necessary to reflect changes to the website, the project, applicable requirements or the way in which the website operates.
The current version will always be published on this page together with the date of the latest update.
Your continued use of the website after updated Terms have been published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, except where mandatory provisions of another jurisdiction apply.
Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or the use of this website shall be subject to the jurisdiction applicable under Portuguese and European law.
Nothing in this section is intended to deprive a consumer of any mandatory rights or protections available under the law applicable to them.

Forum Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Forum (the “Service”), which is part of the Nuci Bici project. Nuci Bici is an independent cultural project currently operated by a private individual and is not yet established as a separate legal entity. In these Terms, “Nuci Bici”, “we” and “us” refer to the project and its current operator, as applicable. By creating an account and accessing the Forum, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for and using this Forum, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms and the general Nuci Bici Website Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Forum.
These Terms supplement the general Nuci Bici Website Terms & Conditions. If a Forum-specific provision conflicts with a general website provision, these Terms govern the matter concerning the Forum, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through the website and its services.
2. User Eligibility & Accounts
2.1 Membership
Access to the Forum is limited to registered members only. Content is not visible to non-members and is only accessible upon login.
2.2 Account Creation
You are responsible for:
• Providing accurate and complete information during registration
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
2.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms.
3. User Conduct
You agree not to:
• Spam: Post repetitive, unsolicited, or commercial messages unrelated to bicycles or Nuci Bici’s mission
• Commercial Solicitation: Advertise products or services, solicit payments, or conduct business transactions within the Forum (except in the designated Nuci Bici Members’ Offers service)
• Off-Platform Sales: Attempt to sell items, services, or coordinate transactions outside the Nuci Bici Members’ Offers service
• Abusive Behaviour: Post content that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful to other members
• Illegal Content: Post anything that violates applicable laws
• Copyright Infringement: Post material owned by others without permission (see Section 4.2)
Violations may result in warning, post removal, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account at Nuci Bici’s discretion, subject to applicable law.
4. Content & Intellectual Property
4.1 User-Generated Content
By posting content (text, images, videos, etc.) to the Forum, you grant Nuci Bici a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and archive your content within the Service. This license is worldwide and applies for the duration of the applicable intellectual-property rights. It also permits Nuci Bici to host, store, back up, secure and moderate content as necessary to operate and maintain the Forum. For photographs, videos and other media that you own or are authorised to license, the license also permits Nuci Bici to reproduce, display and use them, with creator or contributor credit wherever reasonably practicable, in Nuci Bici’s mission-related cultural, heritage, educational, research, exhibition, publication, documentary and project-promotion activities, including on Nuci Bici websites and official social-media channels. This license does not transfer copyright ownership. It does not authorise inclusion of your content in the permanent Nuci Bici Heritage Archive; that requires separate explicit written permission and a separate license agreement.
4.2 Copyright & Ownership
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties. This includes photographs, videos, or other material featuring bikes or people. If you upload material to which you do not own the copyright, you must have permission sufficient to share it and grant the license in Section 4.1. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
4.3 Archive License
If Nuci Bici wishes to feature your user-generated content (photographs, videos, or other media) in the permanent Nuci Bici Heritage Archive, we will request your explicit written permission and license agreement. You retain copyright ownership; we obtain only the right to display and preserve the material as part of the Archive.
4.4 Reporting Copyright Violations
If you believe your copyright has been infringed within the Forum, please contact us immediately with evidence of ownership and details of the infringing content.
5. Moderation & Content Removal
5.1 Right to Moderate
Nuci Bici reserves the right to:
• Monitor Forum activity
• Remove, edit, or hide posts that violate these Terms
• Restrict or suspend user access without advance notice if necessary
5.2 No Obligation to Monitor
While we aim to maintain a healthy community, we do not actively monitor all posts in real time. Moderation is performed by Nuci Bici administrators or appointed volunteers. User-generated content represents the views of its authors and is not necessarily endorsed by Nuci Bici. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Each Forum post includes a Report function. Submitting a report flags the post for moderator review. The reporter will receive an automatic internal message confirming that the report has been received and will be reviewed at the earliest opportunity. Acknowledgement does not guarantee that content will be removed or that a particular outcome will follow. Concerns may also be raised through the Contact page on the Nuci Bici website.

7. Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of the Forum is governed by our separate Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with GDPR and applicable Portuguese law. Please review it carefully.
